    Frankincense Essential Oil
    Also known as Olibanum, frankincense essential oil is steam distilled from the resin of the Boswellia plant. The Boswellia plant is grown from eastern Africa, through southern Arabia, to north western India. Frankincense essential oil is obtained from a selection of Boswellia plants. Boswellia carterii and boswellia frereana are from Somalia, boswellia sacra is from southern Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and Oman, while the boswellia serrata is from India. Frankincense oil is of light, pale yellow to greenish yellow, and has a thin consistency. Its aromatic description is listed as fresh, woody, balsamic, slightly spicy and fruity, and peppery. It has a mild to medium initial aroma, and is used as a base note in perfumery. It is a great fixative and is popular in the perfumery world where it is used to bind other compounds together and thus make fragrance last longer.     Geranium essential oil is extracted through steam distillation from the leaves of the geranium plant. The oil obtained is of clear, pale yellow to olive green color, and has a thin consistency. When extracted from the Pelargonium graveolens plant, the oil is rose-scented, and from the Pelargonium odorantissimum variety, it has a slight apple undertone. Geranium essential oil has a strong initial aroma, and is used as a middle note in perfumery. The oil itself is considered a natural perfume, which is also often used in soaps and detergents.
