Essential Oils Aromatherapy involves essential oils extracted from plants, herbs, flowers, tree barks and roots in order to enhance one’s mood and health through direct application on the skin and/or through inhalation. Essential oils are not recommended for use in their pure concentrated form because they are very powerful and can cause more harm than benefit. Essential Oils List If there's an aroma that more individuals find deeply moving than any other, it is the oil of rose. The scent is divinely sweet, rich, and deeply floral - exclusive to the extract of history's most revered flower. Though the rose is renown for it's fragrance, the flower actually contains very little aromatic oil by weight. Some 60,000 roses are needed to distill a single ounce of oil, or about 60 roses PER DROP, a fact which brings the seemly high cost of rose oil into perspective. The Flower of Love The hardy nature of the thorny rose bush and the flower's magnificent beauty make it a horticulturalist's dream. The genus Rosa has some 150 species spread around the globe, being cultivated in your grandmother's backyard garden, in vast fields in Bulgaria's Valley of Roses, and everywhere in between. Roses have somewhat of a unique past, peppered with interesting stories and extravagant displays of affection. The flower's association with devotion was perhaps most wonderfully expressed during the Roman empire, with...read moreRose Essential Oil

Essential Oils List Lemongrass essential oil is steam distilled from the leaves of the Cymbopogon citratus plant, which is native to Sri Lanka. It is however cultivated mostly in Guatemala. Lemongrass essential oil has a light yellow to amber color, and its consistency is not sticky or viscous. Its aromatic description is listed as a citronella-like nuance of sweet and lemony. It has a strong initial aroma, but it evaporates very quickly. It is used as a top note in perfumery. The oil is non-toxic, but like with all essential oils, has to be diluted in a carrier oil. The ratio of dilution is usually 15 drops of essential oil to one ounce of carrier oil. Possible uses for lemongrass oil are for acne, athlete’s foot, excessive perspiration, flatulence, insect-repellent, muscle aches, oily skin, scabies, stress, and sports-muscle pain. The oil has the property of relieving lactic acid buildup in muscles. It is also an excellent household cleaner, as it kills germs and bacteria. In cosmetic use, lemongrass essential oil is recommended for...read moreLemongrass Essential Oil
